Terms of Service
These terms explain how RatherRent works and what we expect from you when you use it. By creating an account or renting a game, you agree to them.
Last updated: November 3, 2026
1. Who we are
RatherRent lets you rent temporary access to PC game accounts for a set amount of time. We do not own Steam, Valve, or the games themselves, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Because the games run on Steam, your access also depends on Valve's platform being available.
In these terms, "we", "us", and "RatherRent" mean the operator of this site. "You" means the person using the account.
2. Your account
You need to be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (at least 18 in most places) to use RatherRent. You must give accurate information when you sign up and verify your email before you can add funds or rent.
One person, one account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your login details private. If you think someone else is using your account, tell us through Support right away.
3. How renting works
You pick a game, choose how long you want it, and see the price before you confirm. When you confirm, we charge your wallet and start the rental. The price you pay is the price shown at the moment you confirm. If the price has changed since you opened the page, we will ask you to confirm the new one.
A rental gives you temporary access only. You do not buy or own the game or the account, and your access ends when the time you paid for runs out. You can extend a rental before it ends, which is charged from your wallet the same way.
4. Wallet and payments
Rentals are paid from your prepaid RatherRent wallet. You top the wallet up first, currently with crypto, and your balance updates once the payment confirms on the network. We charge each rental against that balance.
Wallet credits are for paying for rentals on RatherRent. Once funds are in your wallet, they are treated as final. If you send a different amount than an invoice asked for, or a payment needs a manual check, we may hold it for review and ask you to contact Support with your top-up ID.
Because crypto payments are hard to reverse, attempts to dispute, reverse, or claw back a confirmed top-up after using your balance are treated as abuse and may lead to your account being suspended and any remaining balance frozen while we look into it.
5. Refunds
Starting a rental is instant and cannot be undone on our side, so rentals are not refundable once they begin. This includes time you did not end up using, rentals you started by mistake, and rentals you chose to end early.
If something genuinely goes wrong on our end, for example we charged you but never gave you working access, contact Support and we will make it right, usually by restoring access or crediting your wallet. We decide the fix in good faith, case by case. "I changed my mind" or "I didn't play as much as I expected" are not grounds for a refund.
Some places give consumers refund rights that cannot be signed away. Nothing here is meant to remove rights you have by law in your country.
6. Using a rented account
While a rental is active, you agree to treat the account carefully. You will not:
- change the account password, email, phone, or any security settings;
- buy games, items, or anything else on the account, or add payment methods;
- remove, deactivate, or interfere with the games or content on the account;
- share the login details with anyone else or resell your access;
- try to keep access after your rental ends;
- use the account for cheating, fraud, chargebacks, or anything against Valve's rules or the law.
Breaking any of these lets us end your rental and account immediately with no refund, and you may be responsible for any loss you cause us, including the cost of a damaged or locked account.
7. Availability and "as is"
We work hard to keep things running, but RatherRent and the rented accounts are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that every game will always launch, that Steam will always be up, or that a specific account will always be free of locks or limits set by Valve. Outages, maintenance, and problems on Steam's side are outside our control.
If a problem on our side stops a rental you paid for from working, we will help as described in the Refunds section. A game not launching because of your own device, network, or Steam itself is not something we can refund.
8. Suspension and termination
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, abuse the service, attempt fraud or chargebacks, or put a rented account at risk. If we close your account for abuse, you are not entitled to a refund of active rentals, and we may hold any remaining wallet balance while we investigate.
You can stop using RatherRent at any time by not renting again.
9. Our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows, RatherRent is not liable for indirect or knock-on losses, lost progress, lost in-game items, or problems caused by Valve or your own setup. Where we are found responsible for something, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the rental the claim relates to.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will try to let you know. Continuing to use RatherRent after a change means you accept the updated terms.
