Privacy Policy
This explains what information RatherRent collects, why, and what you can do about it. We try to keep it short and honest.
Last updated: November 3, 2026
1. The short version
We collect the minimum we need to run a game rental service: your account details, your wallet and rental activity, and the payment info needed to credit your balance. We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers that make the service work, and only as much as they need.
2. What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password as plain text.
- Verification and security data — whether your email is verified, and records of sign-in attempts and lockouts used to protect your account.
- Wallet and rental activity — your balance, a ledger of credits and charges, and which games you rented, for how long, and their status.
- Payment information — top-up amounts, the coin used, and the payment reference from our payment provider. We do not see or store your wallet keys or full payment credentials.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends, such as your IP address, which we use for rate limiting, fraud prevention, and keeping the service secure.
Login details for a rented game account are shown to you live while a rental is active. We do not keep those credentials stored against your profile.
3. Why we use it
- to create and secure your account and verify your email;
- to process top-ups and charge your wallet for rentals;
- to set up, extend, and end your rentals;
- to show you your balance, rentals, and payment history;
- to prevent fraud, abuse, and chargebacks, and to keep the service safe;
- to contact you about your account, payments, or rentals;
- to meet legal and accounting obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run RatherRent, and we share only what each one needs:
- Our crypto payment provider — to create invoices and confirm your top-ups.
- Our email provider — to send verification and account emails.
- A bot-protection provider — to tell real users apart from automated abuse at sign-up and login.
We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect our rights or other users, or if the business is ever transferred to someone else. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. Wallet and payment records are kept longer where we need them for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal reasons. Unverified accounts that are never completed may be removed automatically. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
6. How we protect it
Passwords are hashed, payment webhooks are signature-checked, and access to our systems is limited. No service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and ask you to keep your own login details private.
7. Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will honor valid requests as the law requires, though we may keep what we are legally required to keep (for example, payment records). To make a request, contact Support.
8. Cookies
We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. These are essential to the service. We do not use advertising trackers.
9. Children
RatherRent is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact Support and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Continuing to use RatherRent after a change means you accept the updated policy.
